Michael’s self-taught skill and passion for sculpting began at an early age while watching and joining his parents working in clay. More than 50 years later, those early images of being creative remain a simple thrill for him. Perhaps most well known for his large outdoor polished aggregate sculpture and limited edition bronzes, Michael has recently added various mediums: resins, ceramic, copper, wood and steel. His delightful new purpose-built working space, complementing the two galleries, culminates a 17-year vision. Situated just outside the historic village of Upper Moutere on the iconic Neudorf Road, nearby Neudorf Vineyards and the valley environs have been the catalyst for his range of country homeware. Aged, worn-out French oak barrels are meticulously and elegantly fashioned into stunning bowls, rolling pins, platters, cheeseboards, coat stands and functional boot racks.

Visit the gallery, and you’ll meet Michael and Jackie and see the passion and pride that has gone into the gallery spaces and gardens. Peruse local photography, paintings, jewellery, and a selection of local delectables. Enjoy a Sublime coffee sitting amidst the garden—you’d be forgiven if you thought you were in the south of France! Amidst the fig, nasturtium, and geraniums, Mount Arthur stands majestic on the doorstep.
