Tuku 25: The Biggest Kiwi in the World Book Launch

The Biggest Kiwi in the World is a children’s picture book about a fascinating part of our WW1 history – a story that every Kiwi – young and old should know about.

Author Colleen Brown is a regular writer for the Listener and a passionate storyteller. She has written three children’s books reflecting New Zealand’s culture and heritage. Her first book Elvie the Sheep has been selected as a ‘quality picture book’ by the structured literacy programme leaders at Canterbury University.

As part of Tuku 25, Nelson Public Libraries and Nelson Historical Society will host Colleen who will read from her book and talk about how it came together - a truly Nelson region endeavour, with illustrator Emma Lay from Tākaka, financially supported by the Motueka Memorial RSA, with one of the heroes of the book’s family living in Nelson and printed by local printers CopyPress.
